Background

A Journey in Choral Excellence

The Kerala Singing Ambassadors by Crossroads School of Music is a premier choir that welcomes both students and non-students who are committed to excellence in choral performance. Our choir participates in regular practice sessions, learns a diverse repertoire of songs, competes in choir competitions, and tours various locations. Supported by Crossroads School of Music, we offer vocal lessons and music theory education, ensuring a comprehensive musical experience.

What It Takes to Be a Singing Ambassador

A Singing Ambassador embodies dedication, discipline, and a passion for choral excellence both on and off the stage — discover the core commitments that make it possible.

Full Engagement
Members are expected to fully commit by attending all scheduled rehearsals, performances, and any other choir-related activities. Active participation not only enhances individual growth but also strengthens the collective harmony and performance quality of the group.
Preparation
Consistent personal practice is essential. Choir members should regularly rehearse their parts at home, thoroughly memorize lyrics, and come to rehearsals well-prepared with their assigned musical sections mastered to the best of their ability.
Responsibility
Each member is responsible for organizing and maintaining their own music and choir materials. This includes keeping track of sheet music, digital resources, and any other materials provided, ensuring readiness and respect for the collective rehearsal process.
Dedication
Choir participation requires a serious time commitment. Members should be willing to invest the necessary hours for regular rehearsals, additional practice sessions, and performances, understanding that consistent attendance is key to the group’s success.
Positive Attitude
Maintaining a respectful and uplifting attitude is vital. Members should approach rehearsals with enthusiasm, encourage fellow singers, and foster a supportive, collaborative environment that makes the choir experience enriching for everyone involved.

Our choir rules foster respect, responsibility, and teamwork to create a positive and productive singing environment.

Attendance
  • Consistent Presence: Regular attendance at all rehearsals and performances is essential to the success of the choir. If you must miss a session, please inform the conductor at least 48 hours in advance, unless it's an emergency.
  • Catching Up: If a rehearsal is missed, it’s the member’s responsibility to review the missed material and ensure they are up to date. The conductor may offer guidance or additional resources to support this.
Punctuality
  • Early Arrival: Arrive 10–15 minutes early to settle in, warm up, and be fully ready when rehearsal begins. This shows respect for everyone’s time and contributes to a smooth, focused start.
  • Timely Commitment: Repeated late arrivals may require additional practice or follow-up sessions to maintain group progress. Punctuality helps us stay in sync and makes the best use of our shared time.
Behavior
  • Respectful Environment: All members are expected to maintain a respectful and cooperative attitude at all times. Kindness, patience, and encouragement contribute to a safe and inspiring space for everyone.
  • Engaged Participation: Stay attentive and present throughout rehearsals. Refrain from unnecessary talking or distractions so that we can all work efficiently and productively together.
Dress Code
  • Appropriate Attire: Follow the designated dress code for both rehearsals and performances. Proper attire promotes unity and professionalism in our public appearances and helps us perform confidently.
Materials
  • Care and Responsibility: Treat all choir materials—including sheet music and folders—with care. If an item is lost or damaged, please report it promptly and arrange for its replacement.
  • Be Prepared: Bring all necessary materials to each rehearsal, including music, folders, and a pencil for making notes. Being prepared shows dedication and allows rehearsals to run smoothly.
Rehearsal Conduct
  • Follow Directions: Carefully follow all instructions from the conductor, including musical cues, performance notes, and group directions. Active listening and cooperation allow us to progress together as a team.
  • Phone Policy: Mobile phones should be turned off or switched to silent mode during rehearsals and performances. This ensures we remain fully present and respectful of the group focus.
