MR. ASHOK NATARAJAN
Drum Instructor
Ashok Natarajan is an accomplished drummer, performer, and music educator with over 14 years of experience in drumming and music instruction. His passion for rhythm, combined with a strong academic background in teaching, enables him to deliver engaging and structured learning experiences for students of all ages.
Ashok began his musical journey at Chetana Music Academy, Thrissur, where he built a solid foundation in Western percussion. To broaden his musical perspective, he also underwent two years of Mridangam training and studied Carnatic music, equipping him with a unique understanding of both Western and Indian rhythmic traditions.
As a dedicated music educator, Ashok served as a Drum Instructor at Harmony School of Music, Muscat, where he prepared students for Trinity College London certification examinations while introducing them to contemporary drumming through practical, song-based learning. Before pursuing music full-time, he worked as an Assistant Professor in engineering colleges, this experience strengthened his teaching methodology, communication skills, and ability to mentor students effectively.
Ashok is also an active performer who has collaborated with several acclaimed bands across India and the Middle East, including Gothmiq, Wolfpack, Belos, Mirage, Band 43, Acid Ruin, Eclipse, Blue Codren, and The Wooden Shield. His performance experience spans a wide range of genres, including heavy metal, thrash metal, instrumental fusion, contemporary rock, cover music, and Indian contemporary music. His band Acid Ruin earned recognition by reaching the semi-finals and finals of Decibel, one of Kerala’s most prestigious rock band competitions.

His teaching philosophy emphasizes strong fundamentals, disciplined practice, musical expression, and the joy of performance, inspiring students to develop a lifelong passion for music.
