Established in 2013, Crossroads was conceived in such a way as to offer a creative, diverse and productive learning environment for students to learn and practice their music skills. The school caters to diverse musical needs - especially in the context of a world where music education is fast becoming a fundamental need for all. Beginning with the youngest students, the school caters to the highest levels of professionals seeking advancement in their musical skills. Crossroads encourages creativity, improvisation and experimentation- giving a free rein to the imagination and creativity of the students - offering them the most advanced perspectives and viewpoints in music. All this is enhanced by some of the most experienced and talented faculty and the advanced, constantly updated curriculum in affiliation with the Trinity College, London.

Director : Rejni Alphons

Alphons Joseph is a trained and passionate musician since childhood. He was born in a musically affluent Christian family. Alphons had professional training in Carnatic music from Shri. Mangad K. Natesan (A. I. R) and got 8th grade in Western Music Theory, 8th grade in Western Vocal Rock n Pop and 7th grade in classical guitar from London Trinity College of Music. He took up music as a profession after he received the Kala Prathibha award by Calicut University for the years 1990 and 1992. By profession Alphons is an MCA graduated who later decided to pursue his career as a Music director in the film industry. And he completed MA in Carnatic music out of his passion towards Indian music. In the year 2001, his debut movie ”Vellithira” gave him a vivid entry as music director in Malayalam film industry and has been there in the limelight throughout. He became popular in Tamil and other South Indian music industry by singing the song "Aaromale" for the music maestro A.R. Rahman.

With nearly two decades of experience in music production, music direction and playback singing Alphons remains a well-established music director with many accolades to his name. Apart from being a music director, composer, playback singer he is also the lead guitarist, stage performer and one among the founders of Rexband, a gospel music band with a few albums to their credit. This band experimented a lot in gospel music by blending Western music with Hindustani and Carnatic. He always had an inner motive to share his knowledge of music to the upcoming generation and his passion and desire has led to start Crossroads School of Music in Cochin.

In the quest to learn music and acquire more knowledge about various genres of music and styles Alphons never quiet found a school that taught aspiring musicians about the basics and the vast possibilities of this industry or gave the right foundation to their passion in music, a school which would nurture and channel their creativity in the right direction. He did not see the guiding star among these schools where every requirement is met under one roof.

Every year we have the Trinity Certified Exam conducted by visiting faulty from London, and we have graduation ceremony with different programmes and performances by students and teachers.

A better musician is a better Human being. And there are no shortcuts; the longest way is the best short cut.

We Provide specially designed classrooms, performance spaces that emulate the conditions found in real situations and well equipped recording studio. Students learn the fundamental and persistent qualities and explore music software applications in the most updated educational facilities possible in contemporary music education.
